US sending Thaad to middle east along with some personnel. If any of them get killed, US will have reason to send a bigger deployment. But for relatives, the culprit would be Biden for sending them in the first place to prop up a satellite, wasting lives and taxpayer funds in the process.

The alternate view would be that it's not wasteful at all if it sends the message the US wants the Iranians to receive. Forestalling a wider war is the issue, and in that sense it could be a very smart move. The military, after all, is a tool of American foreign policy. Using limited forces to play a longer game is a long-standing policy going back to the days of Teddy Roosevelt.

how about a message to Israel also to not waste American money and lives. Because it’s not an ally. Here’s another Marine’s take: https://x.com/its_maria012/status/1851894507752820947

I’m more concerned if ‘the most pro-Israel president in history’ takes the White House. Imagine being deployed to fight in someone’s irl RPG. I must admit if would be funny af though

Imagine accepting a deployment to fight for a dirty little jew. Couldn't be me.

Is it too late in our lives to jump into a mortgage?

So my fiancée and I are relatively late in terms of finally landing well paying jobs and being able to save money instead of living paycheck to paycheck. We’re both 36 and currently rent a 2 bedroom in NY and have a combined savings of $35,000 which she wants to use as a down payment on a condo. I kinda just wanna continue saving while renting. I also literally just started contributing to my 401K so I’m also late in the game for that too.

To all the post-9/11 veterans, it’s a somber day that unites us all in the reason we fought. It’s easy to forget - especially with the younger generation having 9/11 be a history lesson rather than something they lived through. The waters became muddy with two wars and politicians, but you all stepped up and did your duty. Thank you all for your service, it’s an honor whether we crossed paths or not.
