Was a B4 senior associate in FDD for about a year and went into IB as an analyst at a large MM. I’m honestly considering jumping back to FDD at A&M or something, mainly because it’s just way less BS and more standardized work plus more WFH. I know people typically want to do the opposite, am I nuts? FDD was chill compared to banking when I was working there. Bonuses in banking are bound to be ass this year as well

You’re not nuts everybody values different things in their career. Have you thought about trying to get into the buyside? Could be your only shot at getting into PE investment team and if you go back to FDD I’d say that door closes.

What partner makes 1.5? Pwc is the highest among the big4 last year average was 1.2 in the best year ever. So yeah there are partners making that much but considering time value of money and investments making 400k today is worth a lot more than it is in the future.

As accountants everyone should know this lol

You’re not nuts, I imagine WLB is worse in IB, and people want different things. Have you also considered corp dev? Background would fit well for those roles. DM if you need any details on A&M.

Banking culture can definitely be brutal, so I can see it
