I'd say like120$ can't hurt
To OP's first question, what're the ways you avoid telling a recruiter your current comp?
PwC non MBA seniors range from $95 - 115k, city can change that
We don't ask for paystubs
Nailed it D1. Just don't want to get low balled.
When they ask salary, be vague by using words like "my total comp is 93k". Means you're throwing in salary and expected bonuses and what not. Then if you get the job and they ask for verification, you put down your actual and then reiterate the number you gave was total comp, not salary. If they want you, they want you
Honestly not sure it makes sense for me to jump for less than $110k. Just wondering if the cohort model would keep me within that range even if I tell the recruiter that I'm currently at $85k
NYC Cyber by the way
(Non MBA)
Based on your salary, I assume no MBA and ~3-4 years out of school. You're looking at the lower end of the salary range. Be realistic about the number or they'll just ignore you.
K, If they put you at SA2 you should get about $105-110 in NYC. The cohort model will automatically bring you up you the Senior minimum
Anyone know SA1 & SA2 minimums in NYC Cyber?
115 is the top band for non MBA seniors. So I'd go for that.
OP our tech and management consulting bands are the same, Cyber doesn't get paid more or less
So the SA band for non-MBA stretches $100k (low end) - $115 (high end)? I'm thinking they'll probably bring me in at SA1 considering I made senior in 2 years at K and will be making a slight line of service change.
chicago cyber SA1 at 95k. You should ask for more than the average SA1 salary bc cyber is a hot tool. Ask for 110-120 and see what they come back with. This is assuming you are further into the interview process, when HR starts putting together an offer for you. Take into account you'll miss the bonus from performance, that helps make the case for a high salary ask (along with leaving an established network)
You are being lowballed at your current salary in NYC at KPMG . Ask for 120
If you get brought in at 115/120, you will not get a raise until you move up to Manager - also keep that in mind OP
Why is that bad S1? ~4 years of 115-120 > slow yearly increases to 120
Got it. What's the bottom of the SA cohort? $99k?
NYC is likely $100k, Chicago is $95k
