Not for an OB visit... That can/should happen now.
Go. Took almost a year to conceive the first time with no assistance and were never successful the second time and decided to be happy with one child after a few rounds of IVF.
Doctor can suggest some tests to see how hormones and sperm counts look. They might prescribe Clomid to help until you hit a year when they will suggest IUI and then IVF.
Don’t be shy, visit obgyn and plan to see a fertility specialist as well if it does not work out in the next 3-6 months.
Often takes a year or more, especially if BC was used before. Wife never used BC, but still took us a year of active trying (including timing cycles, ovulation test strips, etc). Also, don't hesitate to ask for a male fertility test - don't assume it's just a problem on her end. :) Low sperm count or low motility doesn't make you less of a man - and may help her feel better about herself, too! Win-win.
Thanks D2. Sure I will get that checked too
Have you tried going on a cruise? A friends fertility doc recommended that b/c there didn’t seem to be any physiological issue. 8 days of sleeping a lot, eating even more, and screwing like rabbits and baby #1 was on its way shortly afterwards. Doc said she thought they were too stressed and worrying about diet and that got in the way.
Are you timing the cycles? There’s a small window which you will want to zero in on.
Yes been following those
Yes see someone. Will save you some grief to get help.
Use high quality ovulation sticks (Clear blue for example), try everyday starting 3-5 days before ovulation and until after the day of ovulation.
Go see the doc. Forget timing and basal temp. Just use the pee strips.
100% go. The compounding stress from not knowing definitely won't help conception. See an expert, get the facts and then you can make a solid plan.
