chubb paternal leave policy?
I have been reading a few articles talking about how FAANG isn’t as lavish as it used to be. My first question is if that is true? If it is true, my second question is what companies out there have the pay, benefits, and perks like FAANG? My last question is if it is as difficult to get into those companies? Absolutely. Fertility, childcare, maternity leave, and even health needs for themselves.
Define woman
I would disagree with this. Men also have a lot of health needs, depending on the person. They might also have families, or want one, and there is usually no paternity leave. If you are the sole provider, things like PTO make a big difference - I know that is true for any gender. But mainly I would say transgender and intersex people are most affected.
our firm did not even have the same paternity leave as maternity until two years ago.
Benefits in terms of health in this country are helping no one. You’re completely locked into a for profit system that only focuses on sickness and pharmaceuticals to treat sickness. If you want holistic care, chiropractic care, or even Eastern medicine, you’re stuck paying $1000’s a year for “health insurance” that you can’t even use.
Regarding who is harmed more, I’d say that weak benefits harm everyone equally, often times men and their families more because they are often the primary insured and carry the burden.
Absolutely. I think much of the pay gap and lack of women CEOs stem from the fact that most companies do not have adequate post maternity benefits or flexibility for childcare!
In general benefits affect women more, both ways. If they are really good, women benefit more. I think it would be great to just give people a bank of days to be used for any health-related need (family members sick, cancer treatment, mental health needs, etc) that are separate from PTO. I clearly understand the need for women to have time off after having a baby, but many people face things where having extended time off (with pay) would be a huge benefit. It’s not uncommon for a surgery to knock someone out 2-4 weeks.
