I am a mechanical engineer and people think that because I am a "mechanical" engineer like I fix cars. It is part of the career, but it is not the same thing. It happens to others that people confuse your profession, or it's only to me?

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?

I was put in to SAP when I joined my firm. I got SAP FI certified (associate), but have not done any configuring or implementation work at all (gov't consulting). I'm functional, and do use SAP (cont)

Anyone know what is the eligibility for promotion in Harman and when that gets reflected? I have 9+ years of exp expecting designation change by this year. I completed 2.5yrs in Harman

Hey everyone! I’m struggling to decide whether I should pursue a full time MBA or a Part Time MBA. Truly, what scares me about a full time one is the fact that I won’t work for two years. I know it’s a big investment and I’ll be rewarded for ir later on, but the thought of it still scares me. I would love to get someone’s thoughts on this! Is the experience very different? Will I be exhausted if I do the part time? Is there something I’m not considering when it comes to the Full Time?

Has anyone gone from Accounting Advisory to Deals Accounting Advisory at an Investment Bank? Is this a move that makes sense? I'm assuming the hours expectations would be crazy if it's IB?

How do I pivot from a broker to any job in tech?

Within my first year of Consulting, really struggling with the hours amongst other things. Spoken to a couple of people internally and the advice is to get on to projects with bigger budgets and therefore bigger teams/more support. I want to wait until I hit the one year mark before making a decision on whether Consulting is for me or not. Curious to hear from other experienced hires..how is/was your first year?

Is it possible to get a trading job out of MBA? Most people I know in Finance typically get IB jobs.

Hello! I’m currently a Administrative assistant now working at a major medical system in Baltimore. I’ve previously worked for 10 years as a medical assistant in a variety of specialties and primary care. Lately, I’ve been feeling a bit stuck as to my next step. Part of me want to go into management, another part is saying go get your RN, and the other is saying go into Social Work. I’m all over the place. Any ideas? And how would I be able to cross over to management?

I got an offer from Natwest. My current company is accenture and they are offering me to promote as an assoc manager if i take my resignation back. Shall i consider it? What whould i prefer Nat west or promotion in Accenture. How much hike accenture gives while promoting? Any inputs?

I have an offer from ICICI Bank for Treasury Sales Manager in Mumbai. I have done my MBA in finance from IMI, Delhi and cleared CFA Level 2. What should be the expected CTC given that my current work ex is 1.3 years and my current ctc is 16 LPA? How much hike can I expect?

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

Got offer from BCG for ECT. Read numerous comments about ECT being not attractive compared to Generalist track. Also heard challenges about billability/utilization. Any views/ guidance appreciated!

Hi guys, I have a table with customer information. Some entries are invalid. Way to find them out is by invalid customer name like ‘dguychjki’.. no definite rule. More so like you get to know that it does seem right. How best to extract such entries for further review? What condition do I put in where clause of sql?

A recruiter I've long known keeps reaching out about a FT agency VP role but doesn’t know I currently have a FT job and I don’t intend on telling him. The work would be no conflict, decent salary and benefits, but I really dislike agency.

I could really use the additional money but I'm feeling conflicted about the potential overemployment. Any advice?
