After 6 years of temporary contracts and unstable situations, I find my dream job in my dream company. All of a sudden the world goes upside down and I get laid off. I start sending hundreds of applications, with only 2 recruiters getting back to me to say I don’t have experience for the job (this is how it works in Italy). Add a terrible health situation in my family and it seems there’s no light at the end of the tunnel. Ugh. 😞

Is Visa expected to have any layoffs due to the recession? Asking b/c I have a small workload.

I got laid off from my job as an account manager at a SAAS company. I’ve been applying non stop for similar jobs in saas for the past 2 months and I’m not having a lot of success with interviews. Either not getting them or not getting an offer because they go with a candidate with more experience (I have 1 year experience). Any advice for companies to apply to or with getting an offer despite not having as many years experience as others?

Hey All! I was recently laid off in November as part of a company mass layoff. I'm really taking this opportunity to shoot for a Director level position in Marketing. (I've been a marketing professional for over 10 years). I've had one or two direct reports and I really enjoying coaching and mentorship and I've been told I am very creative and strategic able to move projects from conception to creation to execution. Thoughts on joining a boutique consulting firm during this economy? Is it typically viewed as safer or riskier than bigger firms? Sorry if this is a dumb question. I know many of the bigger firms had layoffs but I imagine they have much more in the pipeline/budget/resources whereas boutique firms may or may not have had layoffs (is there a reputable source about this online?) but have fewer of the other items.
