What are some of the challenges you’ve noticed after joining the logistics industry?

Since joining the logistics industry, I have noticed several challenges. The first is the complexity of supply chains and their various components. As the industry becomes more sophisticated, it is increasingly difficult for organizations to manage the flow of goods and services across different geographies with often-changing regulations and customer demands

Talent acquisition and retention continues to be a growing concern as organizations are in need of highly skilled personnel to help them navigate this changing landscape.

Joining the logistics industry has been a real eye-opening experience, and I've noticed a few challenges that all operators must face. The main issue is related to cost containment as rising fuel prices, labor costs, and security measures can put strain on already tight resources.

Firstly, many companies have complex IT systems that are hard to navigate and understand. This can be difficult to learn as a newcomer, especially when it comes to tracking deliveries and handling order fulfilment. Additionally, there is also the challenge of meeting customer expectations in terms of delivery speed and accuracy. With more customers placing orders online and expecting faster delivery times, it can be a challenge to manage delivery schedules while ensuring accurate and timely orders.

One of the biggest challenges I noticed is that there are many regulations and protocols in place that I have to adhere to, which can be difficult for someone who is new to the industry.

Hi fish,

Kindly consider this as most confused situation of my life and reply.

Does a non-tech PMO candidate can also achieve 30-50 LPA in just 5-6 years of experience as you technical people are achieving.

Please also suggest, should I continue in this PMO and go for PMP, Prince2 then try or just learn some technical things and then can only expect this much package?

Left IBD to quickly - VP1 opps?

Long story short - was lured into an opportunity to do BD for a large PE PortCo… better work/life balance, but honestly miss the deal cycle.

Anyone know of open VP1 opps right now?

Quick background - former MM banker (think Raymond James, Piper Sandler size) doing FinTech and Asset Management within FIG, but also open to other sectors.

Thanks!
