A lot of accounting/finance recruiters I’ve talked to have backgrounds in accounting, but found it wasn’t for them
I’ve done recruiting, learning and development, and now coaching. I’m super happy I started with accounting and also love the relationship roles I’ve been in since. Follow your heart.
Sales?
Consulting is one option. Managers and above have a focus on sales, but also obviously manage people too.
I feel like a lot of accountants pivot into project management, that can definitely be less technical
Not exactly what you’re looking for but I’ve worked at most of the big four. PwC I have found to be more focused on relationships. It seems the core of their business. Technical is secondary to the schmooze. Might be a better cultural fit than Deloitte.
I appreciate that insight!

Being an Sm/D/Ppmd is all about relationships
Hah you’d be surprised at who makes it. They’re usually not technical.
One of the women I went to school went started with Deloitte then moved to payroll software sales. Not sure what her personal situation is but if you're good at sales you can make bank. Plus as a customer I'd appreciate someone with a more technical background working with me.
Also I just changed jobs and worked with 3rd party recruiters. I appreciated the recruiters with an accounting background because they understood the intracies of the jobs they were trying to sell me on
