What are the best case interview prep materials?

What are things to think about when considering a job from a startup? Especially with todays economy in mind? I currently work at a non startup company. I have never worked at a startup. I want to change jobs but I’m a bit worried about job security with the current economy. For context I would be working in software.

Bonus question: What are important questions I should ask when interviewing with a startup?

I have been working remotely since covid getting nothing but positive reviews. My company is not remote friendly and is now telling me I have to return to the office or I lose my job. I just found out a co-worker had a remote position created for them, without a job posting, without an interview and without the experience required (normally a license or certification would be mandatory). I understand life isn’t fair but is there an ethical problem with this?

I have a partner who routinely ignores emails or responds to them several weeks later. He has to approve every single document sent to the client or the court, which means you have a physically go to his office to ask him to review something. I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.
