What's the lowest utilization you've seen an associate get promoted to senior? And why do people get promoted despite low utilization?

How long before it's reasonable to look for a new job? Been here 3.5 months, and not being challenged or fully utilized despite my requests/efforts/experience.

I’ll start. Trying to get non local resources utilized. National Leadership thinks this is the answer to our problems but local leadership is hesitant.

Do you report hours as full time when traveling for work? It doesn’t make sense that my utilization has to take a hit and I don’t want to burn myself out trying to hit the 40…. or don’t know what I would do to hit the 40 on less busy seasons or projects.

Looking from a career POV and not monetary POV

Do most people take a pay cut when moving from consulting to industry? We earn so much that sometimes finding roles that pay at-level is difficult.

Advice needed: I’ve been working in change management for 6 years and want to jump to industry working in mergers and acquisitions. However I have a very limited working experience within that space. Has anyone made this jump before? How did you navigate it? I’d like to talk to a few people if possible for advice / guidance. I know there are a lot of change management skillset that would transfer over.

Client recently offered me a job for an open req (industry eq SM). The work is flexible, the req is just to get me in the door but I decide what I want to work on (which I trust to be true). Much better culture, wlb, etc., but I’d be taking a 100k pay cut and be an IC with no team. Is it worth taking a step back in pay and responsibilities, or does it seem possible to get all in one?
