We work off of a total comp system. So if you come in as an associate 1 (pre-mba associate) your total comp is at a minimum 145,but can flex upwards from there in terms of how well you do. So if you do well in your first year, you can end the year at say Asc2 or 2.5,where the comp is ~180k I think.

Your last year as associate is our EM1 comp. So that would be 210k+

Oh I have 4 YOE in relevant field but then 2 YOE of unrelated ( think non profit manager) so not sure how that adds up. But appreciate the insight !

Thanks! Do you know as an EH whether there is a salary norm to come in or it s just up to negotiation?

9 YOE (6.5 in consulting, 2.5 in BU strategy and M&A). Involved in end-to-end process (incl. modeling) but processes largely led by Corporate M&A team. 3 tuck-ins completed (all in 2022).

Options considering:
1/ Continue current path, stack more deal experience, strong chance of Director promo in 3-6 months
2/ Don’t wait, just jump or apply to other roles
3/ Study and go back to grab MBA (considering MIT or Stanford MSX - 1 YR)

It seems like everyone is in agreement that switching firms gives you a salary boost, but that you could be viewed as someone that doesn’t stick around. Has anyone felt like they got held back from jumping firms every 2-3 years for the salary bump? I know peers that bounced around 2-4 times in a 7 year span and they are making significantly more money than if they stayed at their first job, however it didn’t seem like any of the new companies cared that they bounced around. Other experiences?

Hey everyone, looking for some advice. I’ve been working as a RC for a tech company for 15 months making 45k (I know I’m underpaid) and I’m looking to pivot. I feel really burnt out in this role and would love to transition to something else, perhaps another department. I don’t really want to be in an entry level role again, so what kinds of jobs should I be looking at where I can transfer over my skills easily? I also have customer service experience but would love to stay away from that. TIA!
