What are the pros and cons of shipping internationally via ship or via plane?

The advantages of shipping by air are: the time, since it will be much less than the time of shipping by sea. Fiality, since due to its own innate conditions it is rarely susceptible to loss of goods.

The sea shipment has the great advantage of having a significantly lower cost than the air shipment, due to the difference in delivery times, since apart from the transportation time, the required permissions time must also be taken into account.

I think a great advantage that we sometimes overlook about ocean shipping is that many products are restricted for air shipment.

By ship, the travel costs are not calculated by weight but by volume, but the travel time is greater. When you ship by plane, they usually take into account the most influential factor, that is, if the volume is greater than the step, they take the volume as a measure for the pressure, usually it is much higher than by ship, but the arrival times are shorter.

A huge factor for items shipped by air: damages. Air shipments get so damaged from forklifts at the airports. It is a huge issue, and something I didn’t realize until I started walking around the floor and talking to Inventory Control during Covid. Combine that with the high cost of air means that most big companies only use air in emergencies (like during Covid).

Luggage delay claim question

I used Chase explorer to buy tickets for my vacation and luggages were delayed for a month. Per chase term I am entitled $100 a day for 3 days. But the claim agency chase used has been asking for airlines response, which has not came (2month+ now). I am concerned insurance will use this as an excuse to never compensate. Is there a good way to handle this situation?
TIA

We flew back from Ireland today on Delta. Our connecting flight from JFK at 6:10 was cancelled while we were flying over the Atlantic Ocean, and we were rebooked on a 3:40 instead (2.5 hours earlier) but not notified. I received no email, text or app notification of the flight cancellation or the new flight we were placed on, so we missed it. They now cannot get us home tonight and won’t even guarantee they can get us home tomorrow, impacting my work, (cont)…

I'm not hung up on PE/buy side exits, not closed off but nbd. Would be just as happy to stay and make MD (or exit into corp dev if I want an easier life when I'm older)

My dilemma:

I'm at a LMM investment bank. Can get crazy sometimes, but otherwise chill. Typically done around 7-9 pm, had maybe three 1 am nights. Haven't worked a weekend in over a month. Fridays almost always done at 5 pm.

Have an offer at a reputable MM bank but probably pretty sweaty. Worth the move?
