Hi all, recently in touch by Spotify recruiter for a Sec Engineer position for remote EU and was told that range was 60-80 out of base salary and equity. Had 2 years of security experience out of my 4 years. Was also told that there is no bonus scheme or no sign in bonus 😕 Not sure how I feel about this tbh.

Set a pomodoro clock to keep you deeply focused on one thing at a time. When the timers up you get a break to do quick things like check chats and emails. Then you go back to continue deeply focused on the one thing or focus on a new task.

Charge your phone in another room while you work.
This. I put my phone on a shelf nearby and out of sight.
Tell ur fam to shame you every time you aren’t working. Works like a charm for me at home
Not for me… don’t want a boss at home
I force myself to work for 20-30 mins at a time. Get up then come back and do it again. Classical or jazz with no words also helps me focus.

My kid plays in my office and loves to scream wen I’m on calls. Still love it. ♥️
Start the day right: Early morning workout followed by quiet morning emails and planning before things get intense.
Schedule specific times to relax or address personal items.
Focus for 20-30 min at a time with a timer, and give yourself breaks throughout the day.
Unplug at the end of the day as much as you can. If you get emails you can address them early the next day. Give yourself some much-deserved personal time.
I would love to get distracted by home chores. Whenever I work from home I can only work or Netflix. There is no productive inbetween

For me it’s all about the physical location of my office. It’s a distinct office and it is set apart from the rest of the house so I don’t get distracted by non-work tasks. However, I understand that is a privilege I have in this home I would not have had in any home or apartment prior, and people in most other cities don’t have. But the lesson is, try to physically separate your workspace as much as you can. A room divider, curtain, sound dampeners…anything to block you from visually seeing what else you could be doing.
But also, some work calls are great for laundry or dusting so don’t feel bad multitasking if you can!

Quit and get a job you love that has brilliant and kind people you interact with often.
But what about 3-6m later when the infatuation phase wears off?
If you’re like me and struggle to focus when things are messy, give yourself set times to do chores during the day. Like set a ten minute timer and then you get to speed clean for those ten minutes.

If you use iOS, setup and utilize the new Focus functionality. I have one specifically for work that limits notifications to certain apps and changes which home screen pages I have available. Of course you can still access things if you decide to but it won’t happen unless you go looking for it
