I took one official practice exam. I was satisfied with my score, so I didn't bother studying. (Granted, I was 21, so it was easy at the time)
720, got 730 on the practice exam.

Took a prep class which lasted 9 weeks. Spent another month or so studying on my own. Took a total of 10 practice exams in that time period.
Took the exam, got a score I could have lived with, but retook it a month later and got 30 points higher and above the average score of the schools I was applying to.
All said and done, probably like 150+ hours over like 5-6 months

You can get in with a 650, you just need to differentiate yourself in other ways. Strong work experience (highlighted by your letters of recommendation) is definitely one of the better ways to do so in my opinion.
Otherwise you could highlight your undergrad GPA (especially if it is in a tougher, analytical type major like Engineering or something).
However I think the biggest thing is to talk about what you’re passionate about in your essays, and about how an MBA from that specific program will help you further develop that passion. But also mention what you bring to the table, IE talk about how your experience will bring a fresh perspective to classroom discussions. Also try to weave something about each school specifically into your responses as well, be it the culture and what you love about it, something like that
