I typically only do things like that for teaching moments or to make sure whoever is editing “owns” the work. I want to make sure they are aware of the updates etc. I’ve seen manager be jerks with some sort of power play mentality, and I understand how it looks from your perspective, but maybe give them the benefit of the doubt.

Sounds like youre a bad subordinate who thinks everything is to put you in your place.

One of my favorites - “can you update the date on the front for tomorrow’s date then send back to me?”
Rising Star
Or if he tells me he’s going to send something that night and then later in his own decides he’s going to send it the next day maybe he can just update it himself
Swap slides 7 and 8 too while you are at it. Give your 200%
Only time I’d do something like that is if I asked multiple times to have it that way and you still forgot
Pro
Don’t forget to fix the table of contents!!!!
Oh 100%. Or like minor word edits. Why can’t you just do that yourself I literally DGAF
I vowed to not do this as a manager
I hate it when they say “I just want you to see what edits I wanted.”
NO I LITERALLY DONT CARE ITS 11PM AND U R A SOCIOPATH
But really though...
Would only ask for this if I didn’t have my laptop available and needed it ASAP
It’s clear you ordered the slides wrong. They are teaching you the proper order. Or they just don’t like you. 50/50 odds.
Type an email and add attachments rather than taking 30secs to open and update? Very stupid kind of lazy
a manager did that? they must be getting promoted soon.
I mean, a manager just sent an email over with 2 documents and asked someone to upload them into Microsoft teams...
News flash D4 - we’re all glorified admins
Maybe they were not on their laptop?
I’ve noticed a lot of older folks are not PowerPoint or computer savvy at all. It’s weird af for mid-20s who grew up using those tools. Formatting is a nightmare for them and they know the youngins can do it quickly. I think about it sometimes when I get edits/pls fix requests. Like if this were a group project in college I’d be like wtf?? You send it to me, then I have to open it, fix it or edit, save a new copy, and then email it back to you. Lots of admin and BS time for such a simple tasks... anyway good night
Not sure that’s it to be honest....
Even I don’t get this.. my manager sends me the changes to be done in an email, doing the changes herself will take less time than writing an email with changes
They want you to know how to improve it. If they do it themselves you won’t know what the chases were. It’s pretty annoying but can be intentional.

Builds character.

Yup, but destroys the Managers.
Maybe the manager is on his/her phone? Maybe he/she had a train of thought that he/she didn’t want interrupted. Either way just do it
Could it be they also reviewed on phone and can’t make changes themselves?
Use google slide and use comments feature.
This is for M/SM/D/P.

^yaaassss. Just the worst. Hate that so many of their products are so half-baked.
Plz fix and revert thx
This seems like an overkill unless they want to tell you that the story fits better that way. If yes, they should have given a reason to educate you instead of asking to do the work.
