People who ping me just “Hi” and wait for me to say something before they get to the point

like

I hate this too. I've solved it with my reports and peers by quickly chatting with them about it. Not sure how to approach it with more senior folks🤷‍♂️

People who don’t let me finish my sentence.

like

Mine - people asking obvious / stupid questions.
Even worse - people asking the same obvious / stupid question twice.

like

If I don’t want to engage in inane office conversation instead of doing my work, I’m the one labeled as weird. Not excited to deal with this again when we’re back in the office.

like

When people try to BS you... I’m like seriously, if you don’t know just tell me. Nothing wrong with that. 🙄

like

People who like to be the artificial respirators of meetings
🤝
People who chronically derail the topic/conversation at hand

like

When meetings go over time.

like

When internal people set up meetings over existing meetings when they can see your calendar

like

Meetings for the sake of having a meeting

like

Try to avoid MSFT engagements 😄

They don’t allow pets in our office

Oh, I can't list just one:
When people don't follow explicit instructions
Interrupting me, especially when it's to tell me I didn't answer the question (I have a client who does this all the time and it's like, if you let me finish, I would answer your question)
Not using proper grammar/sentences in deliverables (I have people who randomly capitalize words in the middle of sentences, and I have no idea why, and others who can't form while sentences)

Millenials and their sense of entitlement

Sometimes I let people know I'm sober. I don't talk about the 12 steps unless someone asks. I try to practice attraction rather than promotion. Also I've never done a noon meeting but sometimes I really think I should!

A partner I work for keeps asking for ETA's on assignments I have already submitted to the senior associate on the deal for review. Does it sound like I'm throwing the senior associate under the bus if I say I have already submitted to senior associate and am waiting for feedback? I feel like the partner will get upset at me even more if my answer sounds like I haven't submitted the assignment to the senior associate yet.

How do you feel about leaving a company shortly after joining?

I've been told by people to not be loyal to companies & I've seen posts in forums where people have talked about leaving workplace 1, at workplace 2 for like 3 weeks, and already interviewing for workplace 3 (and the recruiter for workplace 3 doesn't even know that the person has left workplace 1). That feels a little disingenuous and...bad etiquette maybe? What do you think?

I am 31, F and many strangers mistaken me for 18-25 years old, even with a mask on. Is that...... a con? Serious q.

Def hate the ageism about it when interviewing. I dress in athleisure wear most of the time outside. Do I need to dress more adult then? I know I don't NEED or SHOULD and can do whatever I want, but there's something about it that makes me feel uncomfortable/I'm doing something wrong to give them the "wrong" idea that I'm younger than 30s. Like I'm lying or smthg.

3 Things to keep in mind which changing jobs:
1. Always ask dedicated budget for the job before you tell your expectations.

2. Always have atleast 2 weeks of gap before you join any company. You might not understand significance of that but just have a gap.

3. Always talk to people of team you will be joining before you accept offer or atleast before you join company.

Would like some thoughts on a 2-br NYC condo my husband and I are considering. $250K HHI (no kids). No loans or debts, both have newish cars fully paid off.

Offer would be for $725K, with 10 percent down. 30yr mortgage @5%. We would need to include closing costs in the mortgage, to keep about $10k liquid. Monthly costs will be about $5k.

This unit is special, very rare (we’ve rented in the area for 10 yrs and know the local market well). Should we go for it?

If we decided to travel from Zurich to Amsterdam via train, could we board the layover flight to get home? Or will the airline (KLM/Delta) cancel our flight when we don’t show up to the Departure location?
