What are your thoughts about brining back the Army Specialist ranks above E-4? Are they considered obsolete and/or redundant now are can they be given a new and improved purpose?

I have a coworker who keeps spouting comparative odds and situations in regards to the safety of the vaccine. Such as: you're twice as likely to get hit by lightening than have blod clots from JJ. It's very annoying and I find it to be really inapprorpriate, maybe because it's pushy or just I find these comparative things to be a bit irrelevant. How does one handle something like that? I accepted a $115K base salary, 13% bonus, 10k sign on bonus (scientist supervisor) job and two weeks later, got a $135K base, 17% bonus, and 15K sign on bonus (Senior scientist role) offer from another company. Should I accept the new offer ? How do I tell the previous company about this? Also, I’ve already negotiated with the first company and the $115K base is the negotiated salary. The feeling of avoiding mines buried on the gorund is one I carry at all times, and I remember the fear and the anxiety at every step. I still feel like this today, like every decision I make will lead to disaster.

We as the armed forces of the United States have a research department, but the greatest advances at the armament level come from private sectors, this could not be something counterproductive because if they sell a product to us, what deprives them of selling it to other countries?

Take victories and defeats as equals! Nothing will teach young soldiers more than making mistakes in the heat of battle that almost cost you your life. If you're still breathing, there's something to learn. Listen to it.

Many movies romanticize the sacrifice of one soldier and leave them as a hero, but I have always thought that I hate that. Why would someone need to lose his life to be a hero? I believe the mere fact that we put our life at risk in service is enough to be a hero

If I have double British and American citizenship, should I join the US or British army?

I feel like I haven't seen the results of our efforts. The Middle East is still a mess. There's a war in Europe we won't take part in. Does anyone else feel this way?

I brought my guitar to Iraq, it wasn't easy, but I managed to convince my commander to let me take it. I will never forget those days when we played our favorite country songs with my buddies.

My advice: Concentrate on yourself above anything else, follow orders but also know how those orders affect you, serve your country but never forget you are serving yourself first. The objective is not to die honorably but to survive dutifully. What else would you add?

In many ways, I feel the same as before I enrolled. I don't understand how because I've lived so many things since then, but at the core, I feel like it hasn't affected me. It's weird. Am I missing something?

There is a certain air of respect you get when you become a military professional. As long as you earn that respect, of course. But I like it, it feels good!

I just became a commander. I've always been a good soldier, but it's my turn to lead. I hope I do a good job. Any words of encouragement?
