I would make 8-12 weeks of progress and stall or lose focus. Biggest game changer was hiring a coach to help determine a long term multi-year strategy + break that down into incremental chunks
You need a goal. Define what that is for you. Then commit to a plan. Fitbod is a good tool for 18 months to keep you on track & consistent progress. Then you can explore other programs strength blocks, meso cycles etc. each week the focus should be on adding 2.5 lbs per exercise based off your baseline after two weeks of initial baseline training.
1) lift heavy with a focus on compound lifts and progressive overload.
2) eat lot of lean proteins and drink lots water.
3) have a goal and/or follow a program. The basics are boring AF but they work. There are 8-10 lifts I hit every week without fail (squat, deadlift, bench, shoulder press, a row variation, a lat pull down/vertical pull variation) and have done so for the last 10+ years. Consistency is key.
