I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

None of them, you won't get wlb in audit. Too much work, too many deadlines, too few people at pretty much any firm
All of them are bad.
BDO wlb will be better but still not amazing since it’s PA.
It's the same market... Big four goes after multiple markets. But the smaller ones are messier and give everyone headaches.
Do you know anything about the big 4 model? One year at the firm and you still haven’t realized they’re all the same.
I wouldn’t aim for firm, but for the right team/client. Big clients tend to have more resources as they can charge more fees, doing the same work year after year so can be easier and have better wlb. Smaller clients have fewer resources, you may be in charge of multiple areas, timeline may be shorter so you likely may be pulled to another team that is busy and needs resources.
I guess all of them are bad then lol. When I worked on public clients I was assigned to only a few specific areas like revenues, and did the same procedures as PY so it wasn’t bad. When I was at a smaller client and after year end audit and they didnt need me for interim reviews, I was pulled to a private client who was planning to go public so had straight 6 months of busy season and I was out after.
None. Go to the top 1000 if you want wlb

Depends on your specific engagement/client. No such thing as firmwide differences
Federal advisory is like a steady 40 for me
What is it called at KPMG and what is the work like? I heard that fed consulting is also where it is at
Of the firms I have experience with, KPMG is better than PwC for WLB
Anything federal is pretty great; and normally pays better than the commercial equivalent.
