Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

Are there any recruiters from IBM who have information on their apprenticeship program (Soft Eng)? I have applied and my application is under review. How much knowledge/skill set does one actually need to get into the new collar program? From what I have gathered online, it's kind of a mixed bag and can take a long time to onboard someone. I am self taught, know the basics of two languages and have some small projects to show. Just wondering if there is anyone that has been through this process.
Guys pls advise me, urgent query

I don’t have the highest opinion of them - worked there for quite a while. This isn’t unique to Hill but they did a ton of layoffs for losing Dunkin but then is doing a ton of hiring, which I think is just so awful. Your experience there is heavily dependent on your team, because you won’t get much interaction with others outside your team. Always seemed to me like you only get to use your brain once you’re given an office - otherwise, you’re just there to do your boss’s busy work
They are now also bringing back people who were part of layoffs for short term freelance 😬 I say nothing special to see here...the culture is nowhere near what it once was, but leadership either doesn’t see that or can’t figure how to fix it.
The vibe has been different ever since they cleaned house post Dunkin'. They are hiring because so many people are leaving because of the fear of layoffs. It's a vicious cycle.
Worked there. Total crap, embarrassing bullet on my resume.
Agreed. Very tasteless to be hiring so much after firing so many. Interviewed there once — before I knew any better — and got the vibes of a heavily bureaucratic place. Good view of Boston tho.
NY office was super-boring but plenty of time to work on my book to find a better gig.
Sucks. Very political, clients are a nightmare
The good: we're on a bit of a new biz winning streak, winning nearly every pitch we've been in in the past couple of years. Even punched well above our percieved weight on BMW and nearly won it.
The bad: we're on a bit of big legacy account losing streak, and it's changing the agency. John Hancock, Liberty Mutual, Dunkin' Donuts are all out, and the new wins aren't exactly of the same ilk: Planet Fitness, Party City, Simple Mobile. Another TBA win too, but it's yet another low-end retail account like the former three. Everyone knows what the trajectory spells. Many are getting out before we become the new Zimmerman.
