Was in tech assurance a long time ago, and probably went through several market corrects in my 4 years there, but my progression was 15% increase from S1-S2, 23% S2-Sr1, 10% Sr1-Sr2. Sr3 increase was 3%, then mgr was 20%. Bonuses only happened at promotion years, and were around 8-10%.
As someone who has been in Audit for almost 4 years and is doing a summer rotation in IT Audit as we speak, I recommend discussing about opportunities with lateral movement at either firm. It also depends on what you found to be interesting about IT Audit. At Crowe we have 4 avenues within ITA. One of those is helping our financial audit engagement teams with their IT controls and such. If this is something you did and found to be of the most interest for you because you get the best of both worlds in a way, then I highly recommend making it to at least senior staff within audit first. If the actual ITA work like SOC testing or PCI then I would say do ITA.
