Culture is great, I love it. People are super chill and friendly. People generally seem happy and upbeat, though obviously depends on your team as well. I'm in NY. Pay sucks and there is no hope of that improving, company is struggling financially. And being someone who is very familiar with that leadership is doing here, I can say there there is little hope of profitability improving significantly anytime soon. So eventually I see the company's terrible financial situation impacting culture.
Thanks guys. Interesting to hear pay issue as I feel RGA pays on the top end of things...but I am looking for a culture swap.
I'd echo everything OM1 said. the potential is there. some truly brilliant people and some of the best thought leadership anywhere. the actual work is good. I was there for almost 10 years but left because of the money. (finally). My team was great, my manager was the best. great clients - I worked with good people on brands you've heard. good work/life balance. great thought leadership. great big ideas. the work itself was ok - but the pay sucked and finally I had enough.
Want culture OP go to Anomaly. Want famous work and a good looking LinkedIn profile stay at RGA. Neither are on offer at Ogilvy.
Culture will get better soon with leadership changes in a big re-org. It's impossible to get a raise, so if you come, lobby hard.
Do you work crazy hours at Ogilvy NY as a creative though? Heard different opinions regarding life/work balance.
Hours are not intense for most people except right before a client presentation and depending on how demented your CD is.
The best people place. Average creative place mostly due to very heavy b to b
Loved the culture at Ogilvy. The agency has a very strong identity due to their roots with David Ogilvy. Had to leave because account I was on was lost to another agency.
SD1 - depends on the group/client. anywhere from 8 to 12 hour days...
A great work environment- unfortunately a lot of layoffs and new business is slow. Would go back in a second though
