I agree. There are a lot of companies that listen intently to their customers, aren't afraid to get more niche, and are quick to roll out (and nix) services, very much affected by direct feedback. I've been impressed with what that can entail long term.
Yes, I think that "kitchen sink" SaaS are surprisingly effective in gaining customers and revenue. I think looking at customer growth is a valuable marker, and agreed with the above, if they are evolving their platform regularly in a positive way they stay "busy" but not broke. If they're changing with current needs but have little churn, it works.
