What does it mean when a company puts absolutely no info about compensation in a job posting? No salary, no benefits mentioned, nothing about PTO, etc.? Red flag or just a lazy HR department?

Total red flag, it’s probably a ghost job posting

Not always a red flag. Most companies know you can google this info, especially if it’s an established company. Plus they will give you a range you won’t be happy with anyway (like 100k-200k). Doesn’t help much to put it.
If it’s a start up or small org, they likely want to get someone in the door so that’s a tactic small business use to get you to apply, basically sell themselves to you, so you overlook the benefits. Not always a bad thing, just a way they can convince you that their company is on the rise and “benefits shouldn’t be your only concern when it comes to your career”.
I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with the sentiment, just giving perspectives.
It used to be a common practice to exclude salary and benefits on job postings. Why do you think websites like Glassdoor were created? It wasn’t just to talk about the company’s culture. Salaries may vary widely across all sorts of employee metrics, and not all companies wish to share this information. Some states, e.g., California, have established laws making it mandatory to provide the salary range when asked.
You may even ask companies for salary ranges on open positions where you have no interest in applying to understand the rates across your industry.
Don’t give up, and don’t just apply to positions with companies where you really want to work. You never know how it will turn out until you try.
