What does it take to be able to get a job here??? I’m no longer looking to continue on with my current employer because they keep telling me that I can’t get a new position due to no experience even after 10 years of working here. I can’t get any kind of other experience because all jobs require some type of experience. Mostly 2-5 years to start off with. I’m currently working full time, have a part time job, and I’m earning my degree in finance.

I’m earning a minor in accounting.

It’s much easier to get a job if you have a major in accounting and minor in finance

Finance is a good degree but accounting is better. I think you need STEM and accounting degree/experience to get jobs here. Supply chain as well.

Anyone hiring those who have been out of work for a year? I took time off to tend to personal matters, but I am now looking to get back into the workforce again. My previous experience includes time at B4 audit up to senior level and then transitioned to manager in industry. Senior/manager roles are preferred.

I don’t mind audit. However, I’d prefer it not to be at a B4, as I am looking for some semblance of a work life balance.

DM me if you have something above, thanks.

Hi All, just sharing what on mind to vent it out from my system. Maybe with this I could gain some insights and inspiration.
I have been working as a data scientist since 2018 & have been the bread winner. I have neither been under a proper mentor nor with a team of peers from my field to help me out. I was alone and confused. I have never really got the chance to prove myself which makes me all the more depressed. I'm not sure what to do with my future, indecisive and low on confidence.

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. Any lessons learned or success stories about career slowdowns?
