Wanted to highlight Prudential Financial’s hiring practices. They rescinded my offer once I attempted to negotiate the salary. The official reason given was that I didn’t “sound excited enough”.
They then admittedly gave the offer to someone who was less qualified. There were other red flags throughout the job offer process that the HR team should overall be ashamed of.

Just apply, and then await the inevitable ghosting.
Just my observation, I’ve seen analysts and consultants go over there and do well (e.g., last a while and get promoted a few times) but most folks who’ve gone over at the manager or principal level have struggled. On top of the workload you need to learn how the firm operates and build support quickly (others will have it from their years there). I have seen examples of it work but it’s rare.
That said, if you’re willing to grind for a couple of years then it may open up good exit ops even if you don’t make partner. I do think you need to stay two years though for it to help. If you’re there for just one it’s not a great look.
Makes sense, you probably have a better path to partner than most folks I’ve seen move over mid career. Workload will likely be worse but if you can hang on for two years it’s probably worth it in the long run.
