What is the best career desicion that you took/move that happened to you?

I'll go first - I stopped waiting to fulfill every requirement on a job req and went for jobs where I matched 60% or more.

Since the start of the pandemic, I was laid off from my job, quit the next one, and lastly fired from my most recent job. Now I’ve landed at my next company and FINALLY found some much needed stability, peace, and career growth. Over that time, I learned how to fall and get back up on my feet again. I’m thankful for those hard lessons ❤️

Same as the above. I applied to a reach position where I only had half the items on the job req. I ended up getting the role and doubling my salary.

When you get stuck on a design or when you are starting a big project, what are your creative processes? Do you look at colors? inspiration? Pen and paper? Illustrate something? Want to work with my designer on a toolbox of steps to pick from to find what works best for their individual creative process? I know my creative process is look at inspiration, pen and paper, then start designing, but I don’t want to assume that’s theirs too.

I've read so much during the pandemic - I'm mostly an SFF reader but have also got into some other genres including litfic, memoir and some nonfic (econ, history).
I'm reading The City We Became by NK Jemisin right now and I'm enjoying it a ton.

For those who rigorously budget to achieve FIRE, can y’all give me some tips that work for you? We’ve tried to do the tracking every item we buy thing but we’ve never been able to honestly track every purchase for a month. It feels like too much work with 2 kids! Any other tips and tricks that work for you? In general we automate savings first and kind of reflect on the bills at end of month and note where to tighten for the following month but I feel like we need more discipline

I need some advice please. I made it to the final round of interviews for a Product Owner position. Since I’ve been dealing with rejection for almost two years of getting into Product does anyone have any tips to ace the interview? Also my goal is PM. Do you think a move from PO to PM is obtainable? I’ve done some research and according to Marty Cagan the PO & PM should be one individual. To this end is the PO position seen as redundant? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Hi All, I recently found that I was getting paid 10% lower(in base salary but all other things being equal) than another APM on the team. I found that I’m in fact the lowest paid on an all male APM team. Do y’all have suggestions on what I should be doing to build my case for a raise? How do I go about eliminating that this may not be some sort of discrimination but we’re getting paid based on merit? I haven’t received any feedback from my boss on my performance and shoulder equal responsibility

Ladies, I need your help
I have been looking for a job for 3 months now and would like to understand what I do wrong

I have 2 y of experience as PM and 10 y in marketing

So, I had 28 screening interviews with HRs (from companies) that led me to 12 interviews with hiring managers - 42%

And 5 out of these 12 invited me going farther- again 42% and have interviews with teams
Unfortunately, I wasn’t successful by any reasons. I am frustrated (((

Better to take a small pay cut (10k) to work with people I know mesh well together at a smaller start up, or stay on at a larger company with higher pay but a team that has absolutely no camaraderie and struggles to work together on the daily? What can I do to make this easier?
