Looking to make the move from working in industry to big4 and was curious as to what level and pay I might be worth?
I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

Take note of your current firm’s marketing/lead generation as well as as case management software. Start exploring what software is best for you and know that not all are tailored for a PI practice.
Start preparing your own set of key documents like your engagement agreement, hipaa, record request forms, Turn down letters, closing statements, collateral source letter, reductions requests, etc. prepping these are time consuming on the fly and you’ll want to have templates ready for use.
If managed properly, a PI practice can grow quickly, so have a business plan and a handbook ready for when you bring on staff. PI cases also move quickly and you’re going to want naming conventions and solid procedures in place from the beginning. A successful pi practice is reliant on organization.
When you’re ready for staff, make sure you always have a paralegal with good calendaring experience. Hope this helps and Good luck!

Thanks for the advice. I also want to try and get a head start on client generation, but I know that is tricky while still working at a firm.
