Bain & Company Hi everyone,
I am currently working as a Software Engineer in Persistent Systems.
I have total exp of 8 months and serving notice period. I have offers from Mckinsey and BCG for their tech roles, but I wish to switch to consulting.
Could anyone please refer me or if you know someone who could refer me at Bain & Company for the Associate Consultant position?
Thank you in advance.

Rising Star
Bain is smaller, the least diversified in terms mix of services, and at the highest risk in a down market such as this one of going under or getting acquired (going the path of Booz, Parthenon, Monitor, PRTM, etc.)
Is Accenture still thinking about buying Bain?
A few second years/Career Services at my program told me that Bain is notorious for leading people on and keeping them through the process but then being stingy with invites.
I should clarify that I fully didn’t expect to get an offer from Bain (I got a different MBB so I’m also not salty) but some people did 3 mock cases with Bainies and went to dinner multiple times and got offers from the other 2 MBBs and not from Bain. Just was like damn that was an extraordinary amount of effort on Bain’s part to give out barely any offers.
If it makes you feel any better, they invited many second years to interview but gave out little to very few full-time offers. Every firm is managing head count rn and Bain probably the most susceptible to the recent interest hikes given so much of their business is in the PE space.

Bain is smaller and generally makes fewer offers. For example, they always have multiple coffee chats at HBS but extend few invites at the end of the day.
Have MBB already wrapped up MBA recruiting? I always thought they interviewed first week of January.
Interview invites.

They’re smaller by quite a bit so this tracks

As noted size and type of work impact hiring in any particular year. Also important to remember that some firms are very high touch so they feel comfortable with a small interview list as they already did their vetting. Other firms will interview a ton of people and do their vetting there.
All to say, I don’t think offer rates are standardized and have seen firms interview ~20 people with the intention of only offering low single digits.
