Anyone who has transitioned from M&A work to finance work, how has your experience been? I am considering a similar transition and would love to learn about any changes to your work/life balance, stress-levels, etc.

So, I started working full-time at a retail store for clothing and accessories and after a brief dispute with my supervisor (my bike broke down which made me come in 20 minutes late to y shift) they told me that it seems like working is not my priority, so to make it easier on me I would only get 20 hours a week. Things are tight as it is, I can't start working half-time. Please someone share some advice or any job opportunities you've seen out there

Has anyone gone from Accounting Advisory to Deals Accounting Advisory at an Investment Bank? Is this a move that makes sense? I'm assuming the hours expectations would be crazy if it's IB?

Recently received an offer from Ogletree to do only class action work. It'll be a big change for me, I'll be starting as a fourth year. Double my current salary, etc.

What will this be like? It's more of a niche, but lucrative, part of their practice, right? Will I really get good WLB like they claim? I have a nice 40 hour a week job right now, no billables.

I haven't given notice yet because I am waiting for the background check to complete, but my boss just asked me about traveling to a meeting in November. I start at the new job Oct 25. I think I may have made a huge mistake today. My skip level director sent out an email about something and asked us for feedback. I sent back a note and provided some. One of the things I said was that our job satisfaction might be improved if we could do more of X kind of work instead of Y kind of work that we do so much of in our group. Everyone who I want to like me or to hangout with doesn’t respond to my texts or tells me they are too busy. This weekend I reached out to 12 people to see if they wanted to grab coffee or a drink or go for a walk. The number of people who just didn’t respond astounded me. I ended up eating dinner in bed by myself and getting brunch on my own.

The only people who reach out to me, I don’t want to hangout with. I don’t have the same interests as them and have to try really hard… cont below
