I'm 29 and my net worth is like 10k. It's so depressing trying to save while living in a HCOL and barely making ends meet. I also help my family out a lot so I'm just really not saving as much money as I could be. Hoping to make some adjustments/get a raise in the next year or so. Wish me luck!
37 yo. $1.5M.
69, $420
44. 9 inch. I mean 9M
26. Net worth is heavily negative. Rent is absolutely killing me, but I have no money, credit, or options with which to gain breathing room. Many people my age can still rely on family support, but the opposite is true for me (one parent is deceased and the other is reliant on me to cover most of our expenses). Still, nowhere to go from here but up!
I hope my net worth goes all the way to zero
34, 850K. Hope to continue saving as much as I can. To all the folks who have responded, keep at it! The first 100K is the most difficult but then it starts to snowball. Pay off your high interest debts, save for emergency fund and then try to invest a consistent amount every month towards your 401K-> then brokerage account. The power of compounding is very real.
Keep it invested and see it grow over time. Keep consistently adding to that bucket.

But you own an asset… you can’t just subtract the mortgage from your net worth, you must also add the value of the home.
32. 500k. No partner.
30, 300k
29 500k
O working,an throwing away old habits
27, $275k. My wife is finishing her residency this year, so should go up quite a lot soon
35, $80,000 only because my house offsets me. Without it. I would be negative $100,000 with car and student loan. In Georgia
I have about 100k 75% in a savings account and rest invested. I rent. Houses I like in my area are about 500k :(
Here is a bunch of data.
There is no age at which the median American:
- earns >$60k/yr
- has >$105k saved for retirement
