What level seniors at EY should be up for promotion? S3?

S3. S4 is common and S5 is like a Mewtwo

like

Happens more often when you're an experienced hire and the firm doesn't hold what they promised/offered when they give you the job, imo

like

Right now, we are pushing the S4 level as the norm in my practice (PI-ITA).

like

Typical, but not all S3s get promoted. I have seen S2s get promoted or people with over 6 years of experience not get promoted.

Yes understood. Just looking for the majority. Are S4's at the higher end of the spectrum then? And then S5s significantly behind?

I was promoted as an S4 as an experienced hire

Promoted as an S3. Honestly most people could use that one extra year as a Senior, it'll only make you so much more successful in the long run. But hard to see that point when you are trying to get promoted as S3, I remember acting like my life depended on it.

Hello, I’m an associate (almost at the one year mark) at a midsize firm on the EPL team. I did about 2 years of employment law as a clerk during school and know that’s what I want to go into. I’ve asked for more EPL work but keep catching PI cases. I second-chaired an employment trial but don’t see any EPL work for the foreseeable future and wasn’t getting as much EPL exposure as I wanted before the trial. Any advice on a lateral move to a bigger firm with a broader range of EPL work?

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. Meanwhile I just received a Director offer for a company with a 29% pay bump July 1. If Amazon or any other FAANG/large co gets back to me, is there an acceptable way to not burn bridges with new job and accept or delay start date with FAANG? Or fuck it just hop?

One of the reasons I want to transition from industry to consulting (tier 1) is that I get frustrated when I have to collaborate with mediocre people. My assumption is that Tier 1 consulting firms hire really sharp people and if I can get in, I’ll be collaborating with folks on top of their game (not expecting much from clients). I’m aware there are personal aspects I need to work on like my mindset, patience etc etc, but I just get so frustrated with blatant stupidity.
