I wish I would have started with something I’m passionate about. It’s difficult to wake up every and work for a corporate company and not really be passionate about being in this space or working for someone else.
I wish I had pivoted earlier so it would have been less difficult of a transition to PO. And I wish I had kept in touch with the mentor I had at the beginning of my career so I would have someone to confide in now who I could trust.
Same I wish I had shifted to product design or something more creative. I regret going to a career that paid well without thinking about the loss of passion id be sacrificing
I wish I don't have to chase for the money to ensure my financial stability and in return deal with toxic culture and lack of empowerment and support.
I have regrets about wasting time on a product that nobody uses. I'm sure I'm not alone in this, and it can be comforting at times to know that I'm not the only one with a failed product.
Allowing other people to be testers or see early versions when they do not understand how development works.
Spending limited amount of time, effort, and attention on relationship and communication development outside of formal product/project work.
I took my developers' roadmap timelines at face value. I know they meant well, but I established expectations based on this, and things that people expected in November of that year didn't arrive for months.
In order to get a project prioritized, I exaggerated its business case. Expectations were quite high, and I despised the stress that accompanied the debut. Thankfully, it made it and met the targets, but that was a stressful time.
