@A1 That sounds great to me, since it will provide more opportunities for leisure travel and actually have a life. Who needs to work so hard all the time #YOLO
@Deloitte 4 and Washington D.C Metro 1, why TF are you doing consulting for, go non-profit or some shit.... More for us. I'm a capitalist and not ashamed. The way I see it, I'm not part of the problem if I make several times the median household, I work harder and take advantage of opportunities presented to me, so it should be that way. I also believe I could allocate the remainder of my income (after taxes are considered) more efficiently than the government, employ more people, and contribute positively to the lives of others with that money.
$250K
Noble to live on 7 times the median household income. You guys are lunatics.
Lol, you people are delusional
10-12 flavia packs
Are you guys not having kids or not sending them to college or something?!?!
Chicago - An even $1 million per year. I'm not joking.
How many of you even make over 200?
$135
What area of the country? I'm in Georgia so it's cheaper
250 is around what I'd like, 300 would be a dream but I don't even know if those roles exist lol
@D4 Just because you're ignorant of such careers doesn't mean everyone in this thread is delusional. I'm not going to do the research for you. Obviously, we aren't expecting to be handed these jobs in our 20's-30's. When I (as an Asian immigrant with US citizenship) work hard enough to achieve it, it's not "noble". It's called the American Dream.
That sounds miserable though
I don't care if you want to work and be rich. This is a post about taking a 9-5 with no growth job. Presumably that means you start doing work which is meaningful on a personal level and not a financial deduction, or more than likely to prioritize your family. The people acting like mid six figure 9-5 jobs are insane. I'm all for people going after the paycheck, I think that's a big reason of why we all got into consulting, but I was pretty annoyed at the nonsensical answers in this thread. What 9-5 jobs pay 350k a year? Would it take advanced degrees, specialization, and years of experience to get to that? A lot of people talk about "going into industry", but the only other jobs I hear about are banking, private equity, strategy, business ops, etc. I just don't think people know what a 9-5 is.
180k would be more than enough
In NYC so it'd have to be $350k or higher to actually be livable for long term. Assuming just COLAs as YOY bumps anyway.
$300k in Chi would be good.
250k if i start now. I can easily live in dc area.
^and no, I don't mean strippers and such, before anyone jumps to conclusions.
