My first summer job was digging graves at a local cemetery. And yes, it connects with what I do now because every day I figuratively dig my grave when working in accounting. 💀

Janitor-All these years later and I’m still cleaning up messes. 🤣 That being said, it taught me to be humble, pay attention to detail, and to never assume that anyone is below me. Here’s an interesting janitorial observation-C suite are generally nicer to maintenance staff than the lower levels.

Bottled Lairds. No connection

digging up oil pipe lines where a lake was going to be. Don't have to be in the sun now.

That's like digging through the shoe boxes for tax deductions but not in the sun.

McKinsey & Company I am joining the McKinsey & Company Boston office in late July and searching for housing in the meantime. If I could get some insight on the ratio of days in the office vs work from home that would be super helpful!

If I need to come into the office regularly I will try to find a place close by.

Looking for advice on prioritizing money over career growth. I am 29 on a big team making $120K. The day-to-day is cool, but I don’t see much career growth. I have interviewed for other jobs but can’t find anything that pays as well. Should I just stay where I am for the money?

Anyone who has started up a side hustle whilst working in consulting - is it generally a good idea to let your employer know or will they make your life difficult/try to push you out if they know?

(Context - I need the extra income to have a shot at affording grad school, I work for a small boutique, job contract was ambiguous on the issue. Side hustle is selling stuff I make as a hobby on Amazon)

Thanks!

Would anyone recommend or share a side hustle that would complement a banker’s 8-5 M-F schedule? As of now, I do an hour DoorDash before work and after work I do DoorDash and Instacart for a couple hours. I do this as well on the weekends targeting about $200-300 a week since I am in a really small market. Looking for more creative, cost effective, and efficient ways I can supplement my average salary. TIA!
