Couldn’t disagree more. I don’t need to see stunt ideas, and it’s not about what’s hot right now. I want to see conceptual thinking and great writing on a page. If you had 6 awesome print campaigns, I’d hire you. If you can do that, I can teach you to do everything else.
Thanks ACD! That’s a good point. You won’t get a cool idea like a clever board game if you prescribe it too much.

360/activations/video/personal project. If you were a writer I’d say print as well. Just my take. Anything that shows big or interesting thinking is the key.
Yeah I agree the print format will always hold up as a translatable skillset showing conceptual thinking
Whatever’s hot right now. That’s what recruiters like.
Guess where recruiters get their Scavenger Hunt Lists from…
Some actual paid social executions for TikTok Meta etc. ideally showcasing how the creative changes by objective (awareness vs conversion) to show how they can adapt
hmmm haven’t seen any outstanding creative books that showcase their conversion vs awareness paid social ads. Don’t think that’s quite the opportunity to impress CD’s.
Definitely agree on including a very social-first project though. Good idea.
Less print ads bc that’s like 5% of what most people do anyways
You’re also not the hiring manager in this scenario, CS1. Like it or not, CDs tend to agree more with AD2. Headline driven Print is especially important for writers bc it shows whether they can actually write.
More PR stuff than anything. Industry seems to be headed there
Yeah like stunts, pop-ups, collabs, activations, etc. Yeah?
