1. Stay at Big 4 strategy group with 75% chance of promote to Manager level in October for $195 base. Will be 1.25 years into firm as of October. If not promoted, probably $175 base.

2. Take BCG Consultant offer at $175 base with need to start over in terms of network and promotion track.

Seems like a no brainer to go BCG but am I not considering something? Goal is to do a minimum of 3 more years so hope to be at PL level at BCG and thus outpace comp, etc of staying.

I’ve been in community corrections for almost two years. I’m a mid-level Executive assistant with 6 years of experience and currently supporting 5 executives at a fortune 50 company. One C level and 4 Vice Presidents. Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB. I’m very interested in the opportunity but also don’t want to make a poor financial decision early in my career. Thank you for your time!
