Is it common for Amazon to advertise a job role, only to alter the job listing to something else by the interviewing stage? I applied for a BDM role. A few days before my interview I saw that the job listing had changed to SDR. I asked for an explanation, but they said they were getting over qualified candidates so they had to change the job description and title to represent an entry level position. Nothing against SDR’s but that’s not what I applied for and it was a waste of time.

I would advise my younger self to be less anxious about the future, to be more outspoken, pursue my dreams without restraint, and invest early. The earlier the better in my opinion. Good luck!
“No interest is a level of interest”
This is as detailed as it gets! thank you. for all those who are also curious when to apply this, at least your comment is visible to them as well.
I'd tell myself to leave my pride at home. Don't be afraid to ask (stupid) questions, don't pretend like I know what I'm doing, and don't be afraid to fail.
It's hard to let go of pride in the professional setting. We use it so we can protect ourselves in some way. But yes, incorporating this advice will help me learn more without insecurities. thanks a lot!
Sit down and write down the life you want to live. Find someone who has that life and Perdue them heavily. Put yourself in a position to follow in their footsteps and attack your goals with an almost starving animalistic pursuit. Do this for at leave 5 years and you will not only be a professional, but you will have paved the way for your children and their children. Your focus now allows for relaxation in the end.

That you get 5x the returns doubling down your efforts with clients you already seeing success with than trying to turn things around with a company who is not seeing results. Spend more time and energy with the former & let the latter one go
This is a really specific situation where your experience really shows. As a consumer myself, I would find comfort knowing that a salesperson was willing to build a genuine connection to the client. Curious as to how that happened before you arrive at this realization though, mind sharing?
It is 7 times less expensive to maintain an existing customer than to make a new one.
Love and hate show that someone cares about something, indifference is what you don’t want from someone while negotiating. Them being angry at something is just a chance to accommodate discomfort and show you care.
People wont listen to you until you make them feel how much you care about what they care about
Everybody is your competitor, if they spent 2k buying a tv, thats less 2k the person has available to spend with you
Perceived rate of return of happiness is a powerful tool, make sure you paint the picture of a better life by getting your product/service
To settle for mediocre attitude, try to be the BEST at all times, if Im writing down a word on a piece of paper, Im gonna make sure it is the best written word anybody on the world will see that day. If I am using a screw driver, its the best screw installed in the whole world. Apply that to the most minute stuff and the rest just takes shape.
Dont react out of anger
Follow up, people forget what they dont see/dont hear
I could share more but I have to go lol
Thank you for this. I'm sure many will appreciate the answer you just gave. You just gave us an insight on what truly to expect in this field. Paint the picture for them and the rest will follow. I bet you have quite the experience already.
I took this advice but... " if someone offers you a job way out of your comfort zone, and you can double your income, do it. Roll the dice and do it"
Sometimes taking risks are worthwhile. This advice is just a testament to how people can overcome significant things once they put their mind to it. Mind sharing any significant experiences you've endured applying this mantra?
I would tell myself "Man, if you want a roof over your head and food on your table, you better do your best to be successful in everything you do and start it today." There should always be motivating factors to push myself to be better.
I’m only 24 but became successful at one of the most cutthroat companies in the country. I wish I would have stayed on the gas and not got complacent.
Did success cause stagnation in your experience? That is the one thing I am most afraid of. I have the tendency to just stick with what I am comfortable with once I get past a certain point. How are you doing now?
