What’re the best perks your company has given to you since being in a Covid environment? Are dinner stipends being brought back? Corporate gifts?

Not having to do anything for 90% of the day

WFH has improved the quality of my life in ways I never dreamed of. In the past 19 months I’ve saved tens of thousands of dollars in daily rituals like parking, gas, coffee, lunch, and dry cleaning. I’ve slept hundreds of extra hours. I’ve been given at least a thousand hours of hobby time. I’ve spent irreplaceable time with my kids.

Corporate gifts and stipends? They can’t afford a perk as good as WFH

Agree completely. I watched my oldest daughter take her first steps via text message back in 2018 from a shitty hotel room.

I am grateful that I was actually here to watch my youngest daughter take her first steps in person in late 2020.

Couldn’t care less about the other perks

Expensing dinner to home after 7 pm

I bought office home equipment. With about $600+ dollars including neck pillows and yoga mat. It’s great

I got a well-being/health bonus in jan
Getting two stipend bonuses in dec
Definitely enjoying the WFH environment
More flexible work schedule
Saving a lot of money from gas, dry cleaning, mileage on car, lunch, tolls, dress shirts/pants/shoes
No more rush hour traffic or stuck in traffic

Is WFH not enough? 🥲

Got a temp offer for less than a year without promise of turning into full-time. Wanted to know what ppl think about temp jobs (looks bad on resume if I don't turn full-time later within the company?) and what comp should look like (e.g. 1.2× of regular comp?).

Got another perm offer in a different industry for similar salary, but I might have to relocate and I'm concerned the work may involve translation instead of pure legal work.

I’ve done some soul searching of late and established I’d love to be offered a FTE role in my current company. I think this is partly due to never having had a full time job which I’ve enjoyed and which have valued my contributions. I think this is due to wanting to feel accepted. I know acceptance needs to start with me etc but I think redundancy and workplace gaslighting has meant I’ve never achieved growth and status in one company where I can truly grow. Anyone else has this?
