I want to ask for a 20%raise, knowing that the company is planning the year budget around now should I give my manager a heads up as to what I’m expecting before my salary review? I got a 0.6% raise at the start of 2020 and a 4% in April this year. I've heard a couple of things about how the partner pension amount @ PwC is determined, both similar in approach.

Both calculations I have heard of result in an annuity paid until death, at which point a surviving spouse (if any) receives the annuity.

The first calculation I have heard is that you get 80% of your highest earning year as a partner (e.g. If your best year was $1M, you'd get $800k as an annuity).

The second calculation I have heard is that they look at your three highest earning years as a partner, and take the second highest and you get 100% of that. (e.g if your three highest earning years were $1M, $800k, and $1.2M, you'd receive $1M as an annuity).

Is ANY of this true, or just all rumor? Any PwC partners that can chime in and explain the pension plan fact for fact? Perhaps with sample numbers?

Which one of the two has more long term monetory benefits/growth? Working as a product manager or working as a software developer. I need an honest opinion.

Looking to exit from 195k base to a sales role base 140 + 40 in guaranteed bonus year 1 to make up for the lengthy sales cycle. I know in the long run total comp through equity and sales commission bonus can be much higher but having a hard time making the jump… mostly my ego to drop drastically in TCO the first year after spending all these years trying to increase base.
