I am in my 8th year of working in law and I make $44 an hour in California as a Litigation Paralegal at a Plaintiff’s employment law firm, if that helps. I got my Paralegal certificate, started as a File Clerk at an employment law firm, 3 months later was promoted to a Paralegal, and stayed there for 3 years. Then I became a Legal Assistant at a Personal Injury insurance defense firm where I stayed for 3 years and got raises each year ($33.33 per hour, $36.33, then $39.33). Then became a Paralegal at an employment law firm making $42 an hour and now am at another employment firm making $44. Definitely depends on your state but if you’re in California and you have similar experience as I do I would ask for the top of the range!
In what state?
I'm the wrong person to ask; family law in GA (not ATL or near it) with 6ish years experience, 40K a year.
