I live in Minneapolis and I think it can be considered low COL compared to Chicago.
Hmm.. Minneapolis is not a low COL area?
Minneapolis has a great quality of life, metro is ~3.5 million people. If you can’t find something interesting to do here it’s probably not because of the city... OP - I think we were starting new associates at $54k/$55k. Assume a second year would be around $60k.
I started in Minneapolis in audit at 50k. Think I was at 55k as staff 2 and 63k as senior 1
We’re relatively similar to EY2/PwC2 in Minneapolis - starting around $53k I think, which puts you over 60k after 2 years. Lived in WI for a bit and enjoy MN much more.
The "boring" level of a city doesn't matter when you sit inside and watch anime day, OP.
Yeah, $60-$64 is like senior salary, not staff
I live in Minneapolis. Here was my pay scale without bonus. A1: $49.5, A2: $53k, A3: $56k, S1: $67k
Around 55k
Damn that’s low. I make that in a low COL area.
@Consultant1 I don’t live in Minneapolis. I’m considering moving there which is why I’m asking.
I guess that’s true. Very subjective I guess. To put it in perspective the median household income where I live is $40,464 and Minneapolis is $58,476 from my research. When I look on Glassdoor it shows $60-64 for a staff but that seemed high.
It's a low COL city
So moral of the story is I’m making out pretty good where I’m at, just live in a boring city. 😏
Lol if you want to try something exciting, you should consider big cities like Chicago, NY or LA. I have been living In Minneapolis for 3 years and It’s a boring city to me.
@EY2 Wow that’s interesting. I make $54k as a staff 2 at a regional firm in a small Wisconsin city.
@RSM1 Anime?
Started at $50k as a new hire in Mpls in 2008.
The progression PwC 3 posted above seems about right.
So I’d assume starting is around $55 now with $60ish as a second year. I work for a regional firm and am a 3rd year staff. I’d assume I’ll come in as a 2nd year staff? Thanks!
