What's the best advice you've gotten that's helped you move forward in the industry?

Subject matter expert with my CPA. I’m completely fed up with the compliance aspect of public accounting Tax but don’t mind the technical side. Does it make sense to become an attorney to get out of compliance work and still do something related to specialty tax?
Or do I just go the college professor route? Wouldn’t mind working @ BNA or something like that either but I’m seriously fed up with everything about tax compliance and can’t keep doing this

Advice for studying for CISA? I’ve purchased the CRM, QAE, and Hemang Doshi’s book. So far I’m having trouble reading through the CRM because it’s so detailed that everything seems important and difficult to retain. I’m an incoming new hire so I think I should read the book even though I know people who have passed with only QAE (they were previous b4 interns)

My company went toxic in the last couple months. Chose me and started interviewing. Had a very successful interview with Amazon but recruiter is working hard trying to place me and said there’s no knowing how long to find a team. LMAO what do Afro Latinos look like? I just asked a creative to include more pictures of Afro-Latinos in our hispanic messaging and she said "I tried to find pictures of videos that looked authentic but they didn't have the right look, it's a very specific look". So no black people in the ad cause this white passing lady needs to gate keep who looks latina enough. The blond, blue eyed women in the photos passed though... UGHH.
