I have a calphalon stainless steal set and then an all clad frying pan set - LOVE it
I should clarify the all clad set is non stick
All clad and scanpan and a go to cast iron are all I use.
All Clad stainless steel
+1. Stainless steel is one of the safest cooking materials too
Lodge cast iron; Le Creuset if you want to pay more
Pro
Le Creuset or Staub if you keep some of your pots out on display/on open shelves, and want to coordinate colors with your kitchen
Le Creuset, All-Clad, Viking, or Staub depending on what you’re looking for

I prefer stainless steel - i have a basic set from Cuisenart.
Cast iron is great but it’s kinda high maintenance.
Le Creuset. Enameled cast iron is the way to go. It's so much easier to care for and cook with than regular cast iron.
Taku cast iron. More expensive than Lodge but way easier to make it non stick.
Love my Le Creuset pieces!
I really like my always pan from Our Place. I think they just came out with a cast iron too but I haven’t tried that yet.

All clad stainless is still the workhorse (buy from the factory seconds sale) - buy cheaper nonsticks and discard as needed.
Le creuset is great but pretty expensive - competitors aren’t that different and you should be baking bread in a combo cooker from lodge anyway
Allclad
Pro
All Clad. I even prefer my nonstick to be all clad as it’s been the only one to be actually nonstick and has lasted 3 years now.
Honestly this is BIFL stuff here. You will pass this cookware down for generations.

All clad stainless - what’s the best way/method to not have things stick on?
SVP, check out scanpan. They're awesome nonstick material, not just a non-stick coating (so you don't have to worry about scratching it!)
Thank you all!
Thank you all for the great answers.
Follow up question, any health concerns around coated vs. non-coated pots? My current pots were coated and dark in color when I got them, all the coatings have chipped off, they're all almost silver now and I'm sure we ate a good amount of it. Is this something to be worried about?
That's why I'm looking for a better quality set.

If you have fat in the pan and the pan is hot, many things won’t stick - and will leave behind a beautiful fond that’s perfect for a pan sauce
All clad!
Made In, particularly love the Carbon Steel. You season like cast iron with similar results, but much lighter and faster.
