Disney is quite far from LA. Definitely do Griffith, Venice Beach, drive thru malibu, Beverly hills, Hollywood bowl overlook, even Palos Verdes if you have time. For stay, check if there's something you can find in Manhattan Beach

Thanks, I’ll check it out.

Courtyard in Santa Monica is in a great location if you can get a good rate

What about the one in Torrance off the 405? Would be convenient to both SaMo and OC but unsure if it’s a good property/area

SLS Beverly Hills. I went in April and got a surprisingly good rate like $375 ish.

The one near SoFi stadium and airport is the cheapest I remember - sorry, forgot the name...

So $399 is ok?

If you’re going to Disney stay at the Fairfield/Courtyard on Harbor and you can walk right into the park in no time. There’s a Panera in the parking lot and you can grab to go from the app and eat as you walk in.
If they are booked any hotel on that stretch of Harbor is your best bet— so close to the entrance nothing else makes sense.

Thanks for the suggestion 🙏. I’ll look it up

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.

For expert witnesses/lawyers

I’m a former forensic scientist that left the field several years ago. I recently received a subpoena from a case I worked and suggested to DA to have evidence re-worked by the lab or stipulation. If I am required to testify (as an expert witness), I would need to book a flight, hotel, etc. My question is this: can I ask for my requested hourly rate, travel, and hotel to be covered when speaking with DA or is that “not how this works” as the investigator put it?

I have a possible opportunity at Protiviti. Coming from big4 and wondering if Protiviti has fairly similar perks. I’ve read the 2022 benefits guide and it gave a oddly low PTO count of 16 days. Is this true and what about a holiday disconnect in the December time period? Are there any other hidden perks that are awesome? Already heard WLB is better and the culture, but I feel like I’ve gotta find that out first hand. Protiviti

Starting a new job next month, and considering taking two days off for kids’ spring break next month. Not sure whether it’s appropriate to request time off for a new job (I would’ve preferred not to take any time off for first three months). I may just be able to just ask for a single Friday off (so 1 day rather than 2 days).

Any thoughts on whether I should proceed with the request? I just came from big law and want to make sure I’m not making a bad impression on my colleagues.

One key selling point, as they are trying to offer is the opportunity to work one day a week to use for things like training, acquiring certifications or building applications that you are interested in.

This sounds amazing. I don't get that at my current job. So, is this too good to be true? I would like your opinion on this.

I finally was able to convince my principal that we need a consistent math intervention at the MS level (grades 5-8). (Right now, we are just "doing our own thing," which isn't helping students progress much.) Does anyone have any suggestions? It would be beneficial to have some sort of progress monitoring tool as part of the program, if possible. Our classes run roughly 55 minutes (which is too long for an intervention, in my humble opinion).

Thanks for any advice.
