2. Is it ok for long term?

What were the typical raises like at Protivity?
Directors, whats your base? How much was bonus?
What I like most in terms of perks definitely has to be the bonus structure. Consultants have a 4% target, senior consultants have a 10% target, and managers I believe have 12% target (this just keeps going up lol). Very transparent bonus structure that allows most people to hit 100% of their target without bending over backwards. Lots of people hit 150 - 200% of their target which is crazy
Yes. He metrics vary based on level but most people get paid above target. At the AD level and above you could get way more than target if you sold something big.
No hidden perks. What you see is what you get. The main perk is that there are very few toxic workaholics, and thus good comraderie and work life balance. Pretty much everybody is making a conscious choice not to push themselves to their limit like some other firms expect.
The one downside to December soft close is that it does burn PTO. You're not obligated to take time off if you have work to do, but it's encouraged. I always worked through December soft close as a younger consultant, and took my time off at other times.
Thanks, I appreciate the transparency on this one.
Lastly, we get random bonuses when the firm does well. Just last month they gave us all $1,500 due to firm performance (and this doesn’t impact our ICP bonus at all). I’m not even a senior and I’ve had $6,000 worth of bonuses in less than 7 months with the firm.
That’s amazing, hopefully they’ll keep this up!
I’m not from Big 4 so cannot compare, but I’ve had a crappy WLB for the past year at Protiviti - largely due to poor staffing. It could entirely depend on your solution and team though. But in general, I think the consensus from many people is that you’ll work less hours than Big 4.
We get a sabbatical, people are pretty friendly and helpful here, and like R&C said, we have received gifts and random bonuses a couple times this year. Our bonus structure is nice (it can def make up for the low base salary) and transparent.
The caveat is we are still pretty heavy in audit and controls, so I know a ton of folks in Technology Consulting that just do SOX….
I came from B4 and I love working at Protiviti. At least for me WLB has been so much better.
The culture and the additional perks in addition to WLB make it so worth it. Protiviti does the soft close over the holidays the same as the B4, and it is strongly encouraged you take it.
Where did you find where it says 16 days? As far as I know everyone starts off their time with 20 days of CTO at Pro, and that number goes up every couple of years. We don’t have an official holiday disconnect, however we have a big culture on encouraging “soft close” aka projects expect people to take time off that last week of the year and into the new year. At the consultant and senior consultant level you get $50 a month for cell/internet service, and managers get more im sure. Our 401k match is as bad as Accentures lol
Thanks. But Accentures 401k is not bad at all. 6% match, contributed at every pay period not end of calendar year.

This is where I’ve gotten the 16 days CTO from. Also came from firms that gave extra PTO for holidays like Fourth of July and Holidays so you don’t have to burn PTO in those days which was really nice to have a collective disconnect.
Is there an expectation that Managers and SMs also help out with proposal decks as well or is that all up to the ADs and up?
I've been at Protiviti for 8 years and accrue 26 days of PTO a year, plus 10 corporate holidays. I use my time off, and I encourage everyone else to do as well.
The time between Christmas and New Year's is "soft close," for which there's the expectation that you'll use PTO unless you've got chargeable client work. But like this year, the Monday and the Friday of that week are already corporate holidays, so it's only 3 days of PTO.
It’s always been 20 + 1 flexible holiday as far as I know
We have soft close at year end/December. Extended 4th of July time off, plenty of PTO days. The cons: only 401K plan, brand is not as reputable/newer due to 20 year old entity. My bonus is bigger here and salary too.
How much are they offering you? And at what level? Assuming you a M at a big 4?
Is this in the US? CTO starts at 20 days then at each 3 year anniversary you get 3 more days until you get to 30 days total.
