If you don't have privacy experience, you won't get far. There are too many people with experience that you're competing with. You may need to go to another firm and get some privacy adjacent experience or take a JD+ job like a privacy manager role.
Optimize your resume to the role you are applying for.
Get other privacy certifications or relevant industry certs ( project management, e-discovery, cloud).
Keep applying until someone says yes. It may be slow now, but the end of this year and next year should be wide open, and these regulators are ramping up.
This is encouraging to hear for job seekers!
You’re competing against people that have experience now. Maybe 2-3 years ago the CIPP cert would’ve been enough. Dont think it is now.
Easiest way, I think, would be to go to some firm that does IR and see if they have an advisory practice you can talk your way into. Lots of work in IR and bodies are needed.
