I have 10 years experience out of uni, as well as completed CPA and MBA. I have a experience in managing entire finance function of small/medium entities, but most notably solid corporate finance experience/strategy leading refinance exercises, debt raising, hedging/treasury strategy etc…Would be looking for something in deal advisory / M&A / CFO advisory etc….thanks Deloitte EY PwC @

Don’t need cfa to be a cfo
How much could it help tho? I’m a decent test taker just trying to be competitive/nimble but also don’t wanna be over qualified
CFA has very restrictive times to take exams. My friends who did studies for 2-6 months 5 hours a day for the exams. Took 3 years to finish, all time restrictive. There’s two periods a year you can sit, and level 2, I believe is only offered in the summer section
They are changing formats so now they have more windows and not as restrictive
Have both CFA and CPA. CFA is much harder but content is significantly more engaging/personally rewarding. Requires a lot of commitment, the exam tends to have high attrition and difficult to get through if you’re taking it for the “wrong reasons”. Pass rates are low, level 1 has been around 25% pass rate lately but L2 and L3 are significantly harder. Huge sunk cost if you fail and need to retake. It’s just an exam but does open a lot of doors, depending on your personal goals/relevancy and ability to leverage the designation. It’s not a golden ticket by any means and a lot of people get it for the wrong reasons/not applicable for their current roles. Good luck
