Take the exit. Even when you make partner, you likely won’t make 700k until 3-5 years later. You can always leave and say “you’ll be a friend of the firm” aka I’ll funnel work back to EY if you promise me a spot back if I need to boomerang
Your exit opp is offering you 700k? I can promise you that is more than any other SM is getting when they exit.
D1 — Facebook level 7 is about $800k total comp. I’d guess that OP is applying successfully to one or more of the FAANGs.
700k? What’s your YOE? What type of role is this offer for?
Well, I can’t imagine making that kind of money but if you’re worthy of that salary, you certainly don’t need the advice of randos to help you make a decision.
As a junior partner in Big4 you are on often a 5-8 year path to get to that level of compensation depending on how quickly you move up. Consider the opportunity cost of not taking that offer now. Those types of offers are even rare for an MD much less an SM. This is very much an outlier for an SM exit.
Congratulations either way on netting the offer and having options.
Probably PWC
700k 😳😳😳😳
We had a SM equivalent exit to something similar, was on partner track, probably 2-3 years out.
Got an head of X role at a major client and now makes more than some junior partners.
Hard to turn down, especially coming as an SM where you are X2, X3 comp

What’s the RSU % of the TC? How soon it vests?

OP: I know you said focus only on comp, but I respectfully suggest that comp is the wrong thing to look at here. Both paths pay a lot. Pick the one that best aligns with how you actually want to spend your time every day.
Sounds like a VP level role at Salesforce. Is that what you are going for OP?
700k!!!! What level and company is offering that!!!
Find out any other stock or vested offer too.
